Two models of Earth's past. Only one survives the test.
Genesis Modeled sets the conventional Slow and Uniform model of Earth's history against the Catastrophic and Abrupt model, and judges both by the same standards any sound scientific model has to meet: explanatory scope, predictive power, and elegance.
It does not rely on religious publications, theological arguments, or appeals to tradition. It treats models as tools, not conclusions, and uses them as neutral arbiters to weigh the evidence across geology, paleontology, climate data, and the ancient records.
The debates about whether the assumptions inside radiometric dating are reliable tend to go nowhere. This book takes a different path. It asks which model actually passes the rules of good modeling, and follows the answer wherever it leads.
What you will work through
The case is built one anomaly at a time, across the ground where the two models most visibly disagree: radiometric dating and carbon-14, magnetic reversals, volcanism, the Ice Age, the Great Unconformity, the Cambrian Explosion, mass extinctions, dinosaur soft tissue, polystrate trees, rapid coal formation, Neanderthals, and the Clovis culture.
Endorsed in writing by two credentialed geologists
"By simply replacing uniformitarian gradualism with interdisciplinary catastrophism, the whole spectrum of geoscience discovery is chronologically anchored and consistently unified."
David V. Bassett, M.S., Geological Sciences
"As a former atheist geologist, I thought I had it all figured out. It literally took me years to reprogram my brain so I could rationally make sense of a 6,000-year-old Earth, without having to invoke blind faith."
Bill Payne, M.S., P.G.
